Between last night and today they're supposed to get about 16" of snow. Thanks for your advice, and Bruce you should be glad you're not in Superior today. Once I have that license I can finish my production. Under the 'advanced' menu is where there is a command to 'delete encoded assets. There's another 'advanced' menu, and contents of that are also grayed out. I purchased the song through Yahoo Music but apparently didn't do something necessary to get the license. When I open the iDVD 6 window, and pull down the iDVD menu, 'preferences' is grayed out. After some test runs this morning I figured out what was wrong, I was trying to use a music track (as soundtrack) that I didn't have a license for. I had been following the process above prior to this show and everything worked. Must be the "cooler" temperatures affecting some of the grey matter "Finalize disc" is not required and should be greyed out. You can also output to a mpeg video file from Videowave and then load that file into DVD Builder for burning. The normal process is to create the slideshow in Videowave and save it as a dmsm file and then use DVD Builder, load the dmsm file, create menus and burn. I don't quite understand what you mean by "I create a slideshow, output it to VideoWave then burn it to disk with DVD Builder". Since you do not seem to have a DVD burner only a CD burner (could not find any info on it in the internet, is that the right model number?) you must be creating a VCD or SVCD disc. You have the same graphics controller I originally had in my Dell system and EMC 7 would not work with it and I had to get a "proper" graphics card. The version 6 forums are listed under Legacy Products, down below.Ī few things stand out from your system specs and post. I don't know whether this is enough information for you, or more than you need. Now all of a sudden I have this problem with the Finalize Disk box grayed out (if that's even the problem) and can't view a burned production on my DVD player. I create a slideshow, output it to VideoWave then burn it to disk with DVD Builder. My two daughters view their copies of the shows on their set-top DVD players. I'm using IE6, not IE7, and I burn the shows to CD-R disks as I have for those 2 years and viewing them on my set-top DVD player. I've been doing this without problems for 2 years, until now. I had most of it done, with each segment (seven separate shows) each burned to a separate disk for preview purposes before I combine them all into a single show. I'm trying to create an annual slideshow for my family, composed with photos taken at holidays and other family events. Where can I find more info to give you on my video card specs? I changed my signature to show what system information I could come up with. What kind of DVD media did you use, -R or +R? Which type can your DVD player play? Does the DVD you created play on your computer? Did you use DVD Builder to burn the DVD?Īlso if you have IE7 installed on your system, Videowave 7 will propably be "broken" by IE7 and you will have to uninstall IE7 and go back to IE6.Ĭould you also list your system specs, especially video card, similar to what I have in my signature. VMGM menu 1: button 1 and button 2 are overlapping. This usually happens at the 'Create menu mpeg' line on the Generate DVD dialog. I can use another program to burn the file to a dvd (though it's a bit cumbersome) but I'm wondering why it's not working through DVD Architect.Video DVDs are automatically finalized so there is no need for the "Finalize Disc" option. DVDStyler crashes during burning: When people try to burn or make an ISO image, it crashes. I clicked on 'Advanced' and then 'Media Type' and it seems to know there is a dvd in the drive - gives me information such as Media Manufacturer ID and Data Area Start Sector and stuff like that - but I can't go any further. I tried clicking on 'load' (top right) but that doesn't seem to do anything. My only options (at the bottom) are 'cancel' and 'back'. The 'Erase Mode' options (bottom left) are all greyed out and the 'Media Information' section (bottom right) has 'Disc Type: Unknown Media Type' and 'Disc Status: Unsupported'. The 'Volume Name' and 'Device' are filled in properly, but the 'Speed' is greyed out and says 'Unknown'. Now I get to the next screen (Select Burn Parameters). Then I get a couple of 'informational warnings' (which it says I can ignore). On the next screen, I choose 'Current project'. Then I chose the second button (prepare and burn). It's all set up with menus, preview looks great, etc. I'm trying to burn my current project to dvd. Hi everyone - Thanks in advance for any help.
